Who am I?
My name is Ogundowole Ayodeji Matt Garcia, a Reiki Master practitioner of 8 years and certified Accunect practitioner of 4 years and crowned priest in the Isese tradition of the Yoruba religion. Throughout my life, I’ve studied the morals and values of many theologies and belief systems to understand the ways in which our bodies, minds, and energies coincide throughout life. My personal goal is to focus on attaining a balanced life and expressing myself as an example for others to find their own path of healing.
The first step in attaining peace and balance is to bring awareness to the full potential we have as human beings of putting negating thoughts and energies to rest. Altars have been a pinnacle framework of creating a space in which to do so. As such, all traditions and religions utilize altars and shrines to create a safe space of comfort and connectivity in times of vulnerability.
Where the story becomes it gets real!
Throughout my time on Earth, many people have found comfort and consolation in my presence — from family, friends, to peers and even strangers. They have all told me of my calming and reassuring wisdom in the words I say and how safe they have felt being that vulnerable with grief. That is the legacy I aim to leave in the work I put into creating and maintaining altars. Every altar that I make is to ensure it can hold the capacity of love, compassion and strength for others to feel safe and comforted as I have with all the lives I have touched.
